iQOO 15 Review: My Experience With Camera, Battery & Performance

My iQOO 15 arrived a day early in a sealed, sturdy box. Inside, the phone was securely nestled in a foam mold. The package included a 100W wired charger, a USB-C cable, and a transparent protective case, all separate from the main device.

Built Quality
Holding the phone, the aluminum frame feels solid and premium. The fiber-reinforced plastic back has a smooth, slightly textured finish that provides a confident grip without feeling slippery or cheap in the hand.

Display and Daily Use
The 6.85-inch LTPO AMOLED screen is the centerpiece of my daily use. Scrolling through social media feeds at 144Hz is exceptionally fluid, with no stuttering or blurring as images whip past. I read articles outdoors under direct sunlight, and the screen remained perfectly viewable, reaching brightness levels that easily overpowered glare. While watching a nature documentary, the Dolby Vision support made the greens of a rainforest canopy appear in deep, varied shades, and the blacks in a scene depicting a night sky were truly ink-like with no hazy grays. The under-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is consistently fast; my thumb barely touches the screen, and it unlocks instantly, even when my hands are slightly damp from condensation on a cold drink glass.

Camera Performance
The triple 50MP camera system captures intricate details. I took a photo of a squirrel in my garden using the periscope telephoto lens; the 3x optical zoom let me see individual strands of fur on its tail and the subtle texture of the tree bark it was perched on. In a dimly lit restaurant, the main wide sensor took a shot of my meal where I could distinguish the shiny glaze on the chicken and the specks of parsley sprinkled on mashed potatoes, with minimal noise. The ultrawide sensor fits my entire backyard into one frame, keeping the straight lines of the fence from bending at the edges.

Gaming and Performance
Playing Genshin Impact on high settings, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset maintains a steady frame rate during intense combat scenes with multiple particle effects exploding on screen. The phone's body warms up slightly but never becomes uncomfortably hot to hold during hour-long sessions. The stereo speakers project sound directly toward me, making the rustle of grass and distant character dialogues clearly audible from both sides of the device.

Battery Life
The 7000mAh battery easily powers through a day and a half of my typical use, which includes browsing, navigation, and about two hours of video streaming. The 100W wired charging refills the battery from 20% to full in roughly the time it takes me to shower and get ready to leave the house.
